The first step is selecting the most suitable toilet for your needs:
Standard Portaloos – Ideal for construction sites, festivals and short-term events. Practical, cost-effective and robust.
Luxury Toilet Hire – Best for weddings, private parties and corporate events. These offer flushing toilets, lighting, mirrors and a more premium finish.
Disabled & Accessible Toilets – Essential for public events and inclusive planning, providing additional space and support features.
If you’re unsure which option is right, we’re always happy to advise based on your event type, guest numbers and location.
-
The number of toilets required depends on:
Number of guests or workers
Length of hire or event duration
Whether alcohol will be served
Mix of male and female attendees
As a general guide, many UK events plan for approximately one toilet per 50 people for short events. For longer events or festivals, additional units and servicing may be required. We can help calculate the right number to keep queues to a minimum.
-
Before delivery, it’s important to consider where the toilet will be placed:
The ground should be flat and stable
Clear access for delivery vehicles
Enough space for safe positioning and servicing
Consider privacy and convenience for users
For rural or hard-to-reach locations, we’ll work with you to ensure safe and practical placement.
-
All our toilets are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and stocked before delivery. For longer hires such as construction sites or multi-day events, we provide regular servicing which includes:
Waste emptying
Fresh water refills (where applicable)
Replenishing toilet paper, soap and sanitiser
Deep cleaning and odour control
This ensures your facilities remain hygienic and pleasant throughout the hire period.
-
Most standard portaloos are completely self-contained and do not require power or mains water.
Some luxury toilet units may need:
Electrical power for lighting
Water supply for handwashing and flushing
If power or water isn’t available on site, let us know. Alternative solutions can often be arranged.
-
For business sites and public events, there are legal obligations to provide adequate welfare facilities. Hiring compliant portable toilets helps you meet:
UK Health & Safety regulations
Event licensing requirements
Accessibility standards
Our team can advise on suitable options to ensure you stay compliant.
At Fellside Loos we are fully licensed for waste disposal.
